Season 2 Episode 9: Being a Mother for Mushroom Medicine with Mikaela De La Myco

During and before the witch trials in Europe

most of the medicine had come from land and the people who were tending land knew how to use and turn these plants into medicines.

Reproductive actions such as knowing which plants were reproductive or abortifacients were outlawed and considered evil. People with knowledge in practicing plants were removed, stigmatized, and criminalized. Nowadays, the stigma remains and we still call alternative medicine “folk medicine”. In this podcast, it is Mikaela’s goal to legitimize and spread awareness on the significance and benefits of plant and mushroom medicine among mainstream, pharmaceutical medicine.

Mikaela De La Myco is a multicultural and indigenous woman whose education path led her to sacred intimacy work, temple arts, indigenous Mexican ceremony, and womb healing, facilitation & tradition. Her primary work is medicine work, particularly mushroom medicine, to heal and uncover physical and spiritual wounds.
